Charlotte, Vermont, October 15, 2021 – The Sudanese Foundation of Vermont is pleased to announce a generous donation of $2,500.00 from PC Construction. This is the second time PC Construction supported our Friends of Opportunity Scholarship.
The PC Construction has been a champion of opportunity for various community organizations and their causes in our state for many years. We are very pleased the Sudanese Foundation of Vermont is one of the organizations that benefitted from the PC’s philanthropic mission of strategic allocation of resources to enhance lives and create pathways for community engagement on issues that matter to Vermonters.
The Friends of Opportunity Scholarship scholarship is a program of the Sudanese Foundation of Vermont. It was established in 2020 primarily through PC Construction funding. This support helped us to envision a new way to create an early investment in immigrants’ children to succeed in Vermont.
This generous donation has allowed us to award $500.00 each to three college students who are enrolled in Vermont colleges. Most of the funding is used to buy books, equipment, or other school supplies that are directly related to their education. Our selection of recipients is based on a competitive application process.
Our mission at the Sudanese Foundation of Vermont is to empower our students to succeed by achieving their educational potential and helping them to be change-makers in Vermont. Our organization believes this work is a critical investment in our students of color in Vermont. This work wouldn’t be possible without the direct support from our friends of opportunity who believed in putting education first for our young achievers in Vermont.
We extend our profound appreciation to our friends at PC Construction for supporting our organization and for all you do for our beautiful state.
